I’m always enchanted by Leanne Marshall’s collections on NYFW. They are always full of romanticism and I love the way Leanne’s woman is so feminine and powerful.
Her color palette this year was very unexpected to me. While I saw so many designers following the pink, red, orange, black, and white patterns, Leanne surprised me with deep greens and yellows (but she also had a bright neon pink and a rose among the pieces). As a Brazilian, that green and yellow are not exactly colors that I’d wear together (it’s our flag! lol), but Leanne made everything flow beautifully.
About the shapes, Leanne’s designs are always very flattering and flowy. This season, the combination of bishop sleeves and deep V cleavages was my all-time favorite!
The ruffles, that are her registered mark, continue to make an appearance in her ss18 collection!
I love the way she always finds a way to form geometrical shapes – especially lantern shaped cleavages and seams.
