However you wanna call it – daddy sneaker, chunky sneaker, ugly sneaker… -, a good pair of.. chunky sneakers (yes, let’s call it chunky) was hands down one of the best fashion investments I’ve made in a while. Not only because they are so comfy and perfect for life in the city and help me make the style statement that a person who works in the fashion industry needs to make, but also because they offer me a million styling possibilities.
From those million possibilities, I put together a list of the 8 main ways I styled it so far. I have to say, my Acne Studios pair of sneakers is one of the pieces I use the most on my wardrobe and it really helps me out when I need to look stylish, but have to walk a lot at the same time. You KNOW what I mean!
8 Ways to Use Chunky Sneakers
The Fall transitioning edit: denim skirt + sweater + sneaker
Since we’ve just begun Fall season, I’ll start with my favorite combo that I love to rock when it’s kinda sweater weather, but you can still show some legs.

With a pair of jeans
My favorite denim cuts to go with my chunky sneakers are the ‘kick flare’ and the ‘mom fit’. Boyfriend jeans could also work, but at least with my Acne Studios pair, I’m not a huge fan of the skinny or the flare cut with this kind of sneaker.
With a cute dress
If you don’t like too much cuteness in one look (like me), the chunky sneakers will be perfect to break the cute vibe and add some balance.
With a blazer
Not for everyone, but I love it. You just have to watch the choice of accessories to not make your whole outfit too masculine. You can totally wear it with biker shorts if you’re feeling edgy.
With a feminine skirt
Just as I love to break the cuteness in my outfits, I love to balance pieces that seem too feminine at first sight, such as this pleated skirt. The white tee and the sneakers added just the balance I needed.
With Shorts
Also on my Fall Edit, I love this combo of velvet shorts + chunky sneakers. Classy from the knee up and comfy and stylish on the feet.
With a sweater dress
One of my favorite fall pieces – the sweater dress – will get totally rewritten this year with my chunky sneakers replacing the boots.
With Jogger pants
That’s another combo you need to watch out to not make it to masculine. With an addition of a feminine shirt, you should be fine!
I really hope you all liked how I styled my Acne Studios pair of chunky sneakers! Below are some other options that I love and are on my wishlist.
