Unfortunately, that time of the year when we say goodbye to warm and mild Fall days is arriving. The lower temperatures also come with the thoughts and doubts about WHAT TO WEAR when it’s getting so cold outside. For me, the main struggle is always to elect my favorite pairs of jeans: the ones that will make it to the top of my drawers for the season (tough decision, I know…).

Key Fall Staples and Affordable Options
As we wear completely different types of shoes throughout these seasons (mainly boots and chunky sneakers, as opposed to sandals, flats and thin sneakers), naturally we have to change our jeans cuts and lengths.
So, without further ado, here are my favorite pairs of pants I’ll be wearing like crazy during this late fall/winter season.
Best Pairs of Jeans for Fall and Winter
Flare cuts
As we switch flats and sandals to boots, we will want to either reduce the length of our skinny/straight cut jeans or introduce flare cut jeans into your looks. For flare cuts, don’t go too long on them and leave some room for the tip of your boots to show for a stylish touch. If your flare jeans are fluid enough, you can also pair them with sneakers.
Skinny Jeans
Can’t live without a pair of skinny jeans? Don’t worry – I also love them. I give preference to the darker washes this season, since my whole color palette tends to fall more on the neutral and darker tones. Those darker jeans allow us to play with different kinds of coats and will always make us look more elegant, chic and with a bonus of hiding those extra pounds we tend to gain during winter.
I love to wear them with thick track sole boots, mostly because I feel the whole ensemble really elongates my legs.
Wanna wear sneakers?
To wear with sneakers, I either choose shorter skinny jeans, kick-flare or, even better, shorter mummy or boyfriend jeans. I like the mommy jeans better, because it compensates for the short length on the high waist (it shortens your legs on one side but makes up for it on the waist).
Mommy, boyfriend and kick-flare
To wear with ‘regular’ boots, the best denim shapes are the mommy/boyfriend or the kick-flare, especially if you want the whole look to flow naturally and show some ankle. You can also tuck your skinny jeans either inside or outside your boots, or even cuff your straight cut jeans, although those are really not my favorite ways to wear them.
Straight leg jeans
Now, the best part. You know that pair of straight leg jeans that fit you SO WELL, but are just too long and wear super weird around your ankle? Worry not, you can totally do a front cut yourself and they will fall naturally around your shoes. I love to wear this style with pointy boots for some extra elegance and leg elongation!
I hope this guide is useful for you this fall/winter season! Let me know your thoughts here! 🙂
