Even though I hate Winter in New York with all the muscles in my body, I can’t deny it’s also a great season to get dressed and look my most elegant self. Think about all the coats, the maxi wool scarves, boots… Winter fashion is honestly the only thing that makes me a tiny bit excited to face the negative temperatures here.

A quality Winter coat can last you many seasons to come…
Building a high-quality wardrobe with pieces I buy slowly season after season has been a priority for me, as I re-think my consumer habits. With 8 Winters in NY, I’m so proud of the high-quality coats I accrued over time!
No worries if you can’t afford expensive items – the durability of a coat can also be defined by the style and color palette you pick. I always tend to stick to the neutrals, as I can always find myself wearing them season after season and they never really get old.
Tailored pants
These items are also amongst my favorite styles to always look chic during the Winter months. They’re not exactly warm by themselves, but I love that they’re loose enough to allow me to wear thermal undergarments to protect myself from the cold.
Trend alert: I love the trend over the past few seasons to wear UGG chunky boots with your trousers. It’s the perfect union of style and comfort/practicality and I love it!
All about the knits…
Elegant knits, for me, are the epitome of the whole Winter for me. Once again, making sure you shop for timeless and high-quality pieces can save you some time and effort in planning your Winter outfits in 2022 and all years to come 😀
The art of layering
One of the best tricks I’ve learned styling my Winter outfits was the power of layering. It really expands your wardrobe and all your styling possibilities. You can repurpose your Summer pieces by layering them over a Winter turtleneck, and also make lightweight button shirts look more cold-weather appropriate, etc.
The Boots!
Trends come and go, but I always like to bet on boots that are classic and timeless, so I can invest in high-quality pieces that will stand the test of time. Chelsea boots, cowboy boots, neutral Combat boots (the ones that are not too ‘combaty’), Mid-calf rainboots, ankle boots, and UGGs are amongst my favorite styles to bet on.
Thermal undergarments are your best friends
These pieces here are non-negotiables for me. As long as I have nice and warm undergarments to wear under my more basic pieces, I know I’ll be warm for the day! My favorite ones are from Uniqlo.
