My Staple Fall/Winter Boots and How I Style Them

Posted on Location:

After a lot of requests for a post highlighting my staple pairs of boots for this Fall/Winter season, I’m very excited to finally share with you 3 ways I’m styling my favorite pair this season: this black mid-calf boot from Tamara Mellon. (click here to shop it)

Over the last couple of seasons, we saw a fever of over-the-knee and thigh-high boots. This season, the shaft heights are finally getting lower, and the mid-calf style is currently my favorite. Not only it gives us major ‘Margot Robbie as Sharon Tate’ vibes, but also, it tends to elongate the legs, while ankle boots typically make us look shorter and over-the-knee boots restrict our styling options a little bit.

Although I’m showing you guys only three styling options here, I definitely suggest you guys go crazy and follow your fashion instincts and experiment with midi and long (fall/winter) skirts, jeans, denim shorts with stockings, etc.

Basic cardigan + leather skirt look with a twist

The mid-calf boots here add an unexpected element to twist completely a look that could otherwise be a bit boring.

Sweater + paperbag  leather shorts

I love the balance that the elegance of the boots adds to this look that could be super casual. I actually went to a work meeting today wearing this one – maybe if you have a more conservative job, try adding length to your shorts 😀

Tailored pants + crop top

This look is definitely my favorite! Wearing mid-calf boots with tailored pants makes every basic look very current and fashion-forward. To be even bolder, you can wear an even looser pair of pants to add drama to your ‘culotte’ effect.
