My Beginner’s Guide to Healing Crystals

Hi guys!

If you follow me on Instagram (@gabriellazacche), then you know that I’m THAT crazy crystals woman. I strongly believe in the energy and power of healing crystals and always have my main crystals inside my bag to always have them in hand when I’m in need.

Every time I’m re-energizing them on my stories, you ask me to talk more about the characteristics of each stone and why I always have them with me. So this is it! I hope I’ll answer all your questions on this post, and, if not, please let me know anything you want to know about them!

Ok. So why even own crystals?

Since I’ve moved to New York I realized that I was surrounded by a lot of different energies. Even when a have guests over at my house, I can feel that the atmosphere changes. I’m a Scorpio, water sign, mystical by essence. So, at the beginning of this year, I started to research about crystals to be able to understand how they work and how they can bring more balance to my body and my apartment.

In my pursuit of knowledge, I figured out that crystals vibrate with our physical bodies and can balance all the energy that was uncoordinated. To do it with more depth, you’d need to know a little about chakras and how to position the stones in the right places – but I’m no specialist here. What I prefer to do is have them with me to purify and protect me from the different energies that are around me everywhere I go. That’s why my amulets are always in my bag, no matter where I go.

How to cleanse and re-charge them?

Usually, I purify them with fresh water by the end of the day and let the smoke from my Palo Santo keep the good energies going. And when it’s possible I energize them with sun and moonlight or ocean water. It’s always good to charge them with good intentions whenever you cleanse them.

These are the crystals that I choose to have in my life right now and their energetic functions…

Rose Quartz

Rose Quartz is a stone of the heart. It’s great for love, boost creativity, calm anxious thoughts and relieve the pain of a loss. It’s also supposed to clear jealousy and resentment for others. I’ve also read that it’s very beneficial for family relationships.

It’s a stone that’s extremely used in healing. When used correctly on the heart chakra, it helps opening up your heard for all kinds of love (including self-love).

Aragonite

I remember I got this stone when I needed really deep healing in my heart. I was very hurt by something and I actually had no idea that this stone helped this healing process after a series of bad events that might have happened in your life. I just got it because I genuinely felt – almost magnetically – attracted to this stone in a gem shop in Paris. It said in the description it was supposed to boost your self-confidence, so I didn’t think twice.

After reading a lot about it, I found out it’s a stone that not only gives you strength, but also helps with overall emotional balance and confidence. As the Stone app says: “red, radiant Aragonite star clusters remind us how much Earth sustains and supports us”.

Selenite

Selenite is an amazing stone for cleansing – not only of your own energies but also of all other crystals that it’s surrounded by. In fact, when I was buying this one from a crystal seller in Brooklyn, he said that, if I kept my Selenite near my other stones, they would never need to be ‘properly’ cleansed.

Not only that, it helps clear the environment you’re at of all the bad energies that can get in the way of things you need to do, your creativity, well-being, etc. It’s undoubtedly a crystal that helps with your motivation! It’s one of the stones I always have around me, and that I often hold during the day whenever I need to clear my head of negative thoughts.

Black Tourmaline

In this industry I’m in, it’s very easy to be caught up in daydreams or to be dazzled and overwhelmed by all the cool opportunities we have. The reason why I wanted to have this stone is because of its fame of being a very grounding crystal.

It’s also very common to be anxious when you’re a creative, and to have negative thoughts and self-doubt coming in all the time. The black tourmaline also helps to keep all that negativity away and protects you from all the bad vibes and, supposedly, evil spirits. Of all my crystals, this is the one I NEVER leave my house without. It’s always in my bag.

Clear Quartz

It’s a great amplifying stone that can boost and increase the ‘power’ of your other crystals. Not only that, it’s a great stone to clear your thoughts and your mind during the day. I always keep it around when I’m meditating.

I’ll quote here the description that the Stone app gave: “like a computer, clear Quartz is programmable. So, set your greatest intention with Quartz. Quite simply: give it a job. Once imbued with a beautiful purpose – like all of us – a Quartz touchstone is capable of manifesting amazing things”.

Amazonite

The Amazonite is, for me, a powerful stone to help my communication with others and to better understand myself. It’s also a great crystal for meditation and cleanse. The Stone app also says that meditating with the Amazonite placed on your upper heart can level you out.

I really hope you guys liked our post! My girl May helped me write it, as she’s as much as a crystal lover as I am. See you guys soon!
