Ah the teddy coat… By far, these guys are the kinds of coat I’m the most obsessed with this season. They’re cozy, they’re warm, they’re fuzzy… They just feel like home. Whenever I wear my teddy coats on Instagram, I always get tons of questions on where I got them and which brands and styles I would recommend – so here we go.
My Teddy Coat Edit
For the sake of simplicity, I’ll just split the teddy coats into 2 main categories: the short ones and the long ones (or maxi). My favorite kind, as you might imagine, is the long teddy coat. The maxi teddy coats just make me feel like I don’t need much. No matter what pants or top I’m wearing, they’ll always speak for the whole look, whereas if I’m wearing a shorter version, I need to think hard about the pants I’m wearing and the top, since I will mostly wear it open (this kind of length cuts my hips in a weird part).

My Long Teddy Coat
My favorite long teddy coat is this burnt brown/orange-ish one. I love to wear it with either an all-black look, jeans, a simple turtleneck and boots or even sneakers. As I said, this is the kind of coat that will speak for itself.
You can find them in many different colors and throughout all price ranges. Asos and Shopbop are definitely my fav places.
My Short Teddies
I also love to wear shorter versions of the teddy coat, especially when the weather is not that cold here in NYC.
